Mark A. Veenstra, M.D.

Dr. Veenstra grew up in Hudsonville, Michigan, and attended Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After playing professional basketball in Heidelberg, Germany, he attended Wayne State School of Medicine from 1979-1983. He then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit from 1983-1988. Following residency, he moved to Kalamazoo and joined K-Valley Orthopedics in 1988.
                                             
Dr. Veenstra has special interests in sports medicine and shoulder and knee surgery especially utilizing arthroscopic techniques. He performs both inpatient and outpatient surgeries using Borgess Medical Center and Bronson Methodist Hospital, and the Surgery Center of Kalamazoo.  

Dr. Veenstra has been involved in missionary medical work for the past 15 years, annually taking medical groups to Honduras on medical brigades. He is a member of Westwood Christian Reformed Church in Kalamazoo and has served on church council for many years. He continues to enjoy participation in many sports including golf, basketball and softball. He is also a private pilot.        

Dr. Veenstra resides in Kalamazoo with his wife and their three sons.
